SharePoint 2010 : Search in SPF

Searching in SPF is very simple and doesn’t have many options. An SPF site usually has a search box that allows you to search on documents and list items in that site (see Figure 1).

Using the search box in a document library by default searches only on that document library. However, in the search results page after you have searched, you see a Scopes drop-down with an option to revert to searching the entire site instead, as shown in Figure 2. This allows you to search only within the document library and not other document libraries.
